        Hi Tru64 Managers,

We have a number of AlphaServers running Tru64 UNIX v. 5.1A and v 5.1B and we use one of these servers to host our Legato NetWorker environment which is used for Network Backups to tape. This AlphaServer has a TL891 library with 4 DLT drives and robotics attached to it.

Recently we have inherited from another division a Sun StorEdge L1000 Tape Library with 4 DLT drives and robotics. It is a SCSI device. We would add this device to the existing AlphaServer hosting the Legato environment. Legato has a jukebox interface, so we are thinking that it could be used to communicate with the L1000 Tape Library.

Does anyone know whether this Sun L1000 Tape Library can be used on an AlphaServer? There is some question as to whether there would be O/S support issues trying to use this Sun device on an AlphaServer. Any feedback that you can provide would be appreciated. I am especially interested in whether someone has already done this before. Thanks!
