Colleagues,

We are hitting a problem upgrading an Alphaserver 1200 from Tru64 V5.1 to
V5.1b. The system has 128Mb RAM and has been upgraded to the latest
firmware available for it. The server has just been upgraded successfully
V4.0F > V4.0G >
V5.1. No patches have been installed under V5.1. 208 out of 228 possible
software subsets have been installed.
We have successfully done all these upgrades (including V5.1 to V5.1b) on
Alphaserver models 1000A, 2100, and DS20.

The problem is that when trying to build the V5.1B Kernel the error occurs
"nodetbl malloc failed". Of course this leaves the system with no bootable
kernel, so we had to restore from a pre-V5.1B backup. We have been unable
to
find out what this error means or how to solve the problem, so any
suggestions would be gratefully received.
