5.1B CD and vrestore

Hi all,

I hit this gotcha yesterday. I have a 5.1B PK2 system which had been
backed up with vdump. I needed to make a copy of this system on
another machine, so I booted the other machine from the 5.1B CD,
dropped into a shell, and after labelling the disk proceeded to
use vrestore to build the copy.
However, vrestore complained that it was Version 5.0 and that the
dump was made with vdump 5.1, and refused to do the recover.
And indeed, "vrestore -V" on the CD showed 5.0, and "vdump -V" on
the running system showed 5.1.

This seems a bit bad to me. If the dump I make from a running
system cant be recovered by booting the distro CD and using
vrestore from it, crash recovery may be compromised.

I did what I wanted another way, but I just thought I'd mention this...

Cheers,
Terry.
