I wrote that script I needed and it's working just as I wanted it to.
I used the vdf command, greped and parsed the output with awk to get only
the amount full. I wanted to watch only 5 filesystems and not all of them,
plus I needed to set a different threshold for reporting a warning.
I get a warning emailed only if one or more filesystem goes over the
threshold and if more than one goes over, the warning email gives info on
each filesystem in that condition. I run this out of cron every hour.
I inspired myself from a few scripts or snippets sent by several people (too
many to mention).
Thanks to all for all the suggestions, it's now working beautifully.
