cdsa directory

I hoping someone can answer my question. We have recently upgrade from
an AS4100 with Tru64 4.0G (without enhanced security) and Oracle 8.1.6
to an ES40 with Tru64 5.1A (without enhanced security), Oracle 8.1.6.
This hardware/OS upgrade is the first step in our upgrade to Oracle 9i.
Since the cutover, we've noticed new directories in user $home accounts:
".cdsa". Does anyone know what these are? My dba is concerned about
them and I can't seem to find any information.
