SUMMARY: Samba 2.2.8a on Tru64 5.1B?

Hi,

Once again, actually reading my own smb.conf file would have saved me a
bunch of grief. I was pointing to a locks directory under /var, rather
than the default in the /usr/local/samba tree. As this was a brand new
system, and I had never created the locks directory under /var.....

Careful examination of the debug output lead me to actually check for the
existence of the directory -- rather than just assuming it existed.

Thanks to Oisin McGuinness and Doug Brown for taking the time to help.
Sorry to have wasted everyone's time with an RTFM (or RYFCF, as it were)
question.

Thanks,

Tom
