Samba 2.2.8a on Tru64 5.1B?

Hi,

I'm having an odd problem with SAMBA 2.2.8a on a Tru64 5.1B box (well
a cluster actually). When I try to start the smbd process, it dies
immediately with the following error in the log file:

[2003/11/17 11:34:45, 0] lib/messages.c:(112)
ERROR: Failed to initialise messages database

I've been running SAMBA 2.2.8a on Tru64 5.1 and 5.1A boxes for some time
without problems in both clustered and non-clustered environments. On
the surface, this appears to be something to do with 5.1B.

System:
   Tru64 5.1B
   TruClusters 5.1B
Patches:
   T64V51BB22AS0002-20030415 OSF540

   TCV51BB22-C0002701-19121-E-20030630 TCR540

Environmental Settings:

   export CC=cc;export CXX=cxx;export MAKE=gmake

Configure parameters:

   ./configure --with-msdfs --with-included-popt

I am using GNU Make (3.79), and the standard compiler (Compaq C V6.5-011
(Driver V6.5-003)).

The build appears to go fine other than some pointer warnings that I'm used
to seeing.

Has anyone else hit this with 5.1B, any solutions?

Thanks,

Tom
