Dear all,
I have a ES40 alpha server (2 nodes) with
RA8000.I have four harddisks in storagesets & 2
harddisks in each node of the cluster.We are running
oracle on this cluster.we have digital unix 4.0 on
this cluster & the harddisks are in raid5 fashion.
Now i want to add four new hard disks tomy clusters
because the space required by tablespace is going
down.
Now i need your help for these doubts.
1) If i add new harddisks what will happen to my
earlier Raid configuration.Is it better to make a new
raid with new harddisks or tomake a new raid with all
the harddisks.
2) Will the data in the earlier harddisks erase or it
will be there.
3) How will i add the harddisks. What will be the
steps.Also how will i make partitions (commands plz)
4) We have Distributed raw disks(DRD) here for oracle
.How will i make the partitions for DRD once i add the
harddisks. (Commands & steps plz)
5)How will i mount the DRD for my tablespace
