Hi Managers and Admins,
Well, it comes the time to make the leap into the world of version 5.?
And tackle changed device names etc. I would really appreciate any
advice, beyond that in the supplied documentation, for upgrade from
Tru64 4.0G to 5.1A. I have read several experiences in the archives
already.

The platforms I am upgrading are an ES40 with 4 CPUS a kzpcc raid card
for raided (internal cage)system disks and an attached HSZ70 (RA7000)
And
An AS1200 with 2 CPUS and an attached HSZ22 (RA3000)

My request for advice centres mainly on the implications of the upgrade
on the raid card and raid arrays. Any gotchas or any non obvious traps I
am going to fall into? Does the change of device names have any
devastating effects?

I know from the release notes that I need firmware level 7.7 for the
HSZ70 and d11x for the HSZ22. The release notes also tell me I need
version 2.3 or above of the SWCC (storageworks command console) to
access my arrays, however, I have been told by HP Service Support that
this is only for the HSZ70 and that the HSZ22 needs SWCC version 2.2. I
currently have version 2.1. Can anyone tell me definitively that this is
the case? Will version 2.1 still work with either of my arrays? Will 2.3
and above still work on the HSZ22? Apparently these are not downloadable
and need to be purchased or delivered under contract?

Finally, is it just me or is it really hard to find software and patches
on the HP sites?

Thanks in advance for any advice - as always, I will summarize.

Regards, John
