SUMMARY: netstat -rn output

Thanks to the 2 suggestion I got. They addressed the subnet mask. I couldn't get on the machine in question, but I'm going to assume it's sunbet mask was incorrect. By showing up in my route table pointing to itself as it's gateway, tells me my system doesn't know what network it's on, or it doesn't have a vaild network.

If I were to guess, it's probably something to do with how the subnet masks
are set up on either the machine with the entry, the 10.1.51.203 machine, or
both. If they think they are on the same subnet, they won't want to go
through a router to get to each other, that's why you get a direct route to
the machine. Hope this helps.

You don't provide the network mask for fta0, but I would expect that this
address falls within the network mask. Any addresses on a local network
will not be routed unless a host route is defined for that particular IP
address.
