dxaccounts fails with unusual message.

I have a 3 system cluster running Tru64.TruCluster V5.1a PK5. We run
NIS for password management.

I ran dxaccounts to add a user to another secondary group, everything
work normally until I clicked OK. I got the message:

Errors encountered while modifying the selected users

Errors encountered while modifying user(s)
The attempt to rename the password file failed
Errors encountered while modifying user(s)
Cross-device link

I tried going to the group and adding him that way, but got a similar
message:

Errors encountered while modifying the group: D0l3

The attempt to rename the group file failed
Cross-device link

Anybody seen this before? The only reference I saw in the archives for
a Cross-device link was encounterd using vxrestore, and the summary
didn't seem applicable here.

UNIX is very user friendly, It's just very particular about who it makes
friends with.
