I can see rdist is not much used! ;-)
Rdist newer source code is not easy to compile in Tru64 Unix. May be
this is the reason for a beta from last century is still being
distributed with 5.1! :-)
The best suggestion came from Paolo Lucente who told me to use rsync.

Unfortunatly, the destination machines don't have rsync and I can't
touch them. So I NFS-shared the files with a up-to-date Debian Linux and
used the rdist in that machine. A bit ugly. But it works. :-(
