Tru64 and Oracle

Hi,

I'm wondering if any of you guys know of some (or know of some documentation)
wrt the best way to optimize Tru64 for performance with Oracle. We have a
machine that is connected to a SAN, and the oracle volumes are on it. Our
team is doing database conversions and we need to increase the performance.
I've looked on the machine at CPU, memory usage, and on the fiber switch for
throughput. My fiber channel switch shows very low utilization, the CPU on my
server is idle 85% of the time. Also, the swap space usage is like 1% (my
machine has 4GB of ram). The iostat numbers mean little to me b/c I don't
have a baseline to know if they are high, or low. WRT the oracle setup, it's
on an advfs domain, 1 disk in the domain, using direct I/O. Oracle does it's
own buffer caching, so I've set bufcache = 1 and ubc_maxpercent = 20
ubc_minpercent = 2 . The oracle index files though are on the same volumes as
their respective databases. To do the conversion we are reading from one
database and importing into another database. Both databases are on separate
SAN volumes.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks
Sheldon.
