Hello admins..
thanks to "Pat OBrien" ..
His answer is below.. I have needed the required commands and some LSM
logic..

Later I have seen in the mail list archives that;
volencap dsh0h dsk1h
volreconfig

commands will make a mirrored volume..
But I could not try this...

Pat's answer...

perform a lsm command voldg free to verify the quantity of free blocks in
the h partition really exist. There are many ways to perform your desired
task, and hp lsm support will direct you in several methods. Me, I would
first add the h partitoin to lsm, and then put a lsm name on the partition,
and then use the volmake command to create a subdisk and plex from each disk
ds0c & dsk1c and then create a mirrored volume from the plexes, and then
start the volume and add an advfs filesystem on the volume. the trick is in
adding the partiton to lsm. I do not remember those commands so well, and
always createa filesystem to hold the space when partitioning a root volume
which I will then do this with.

Subject: using a partition under LSM

Hello admins...
My system:
ES40 - tru64Unix 5.1 PK4

I have read the LSM documentation but I could not extract the required
info... So I apply to your knowledge...
Firstly I have found LSM concepts difficult to learn. I know it is a kind of
(maybe extended) Software RIAD but the underlying concepts are difficult to
grasp (at least for me )

So My problem is;
I have 2 disks (dsk0c & dsk1c) . Their partitions are under LSM control.. I
know I have h partitions unused (LSM structure is factory installed, h
partitions are never used.. ) and want to use it as an advFS disk
space...But I dont know how to make these h partitions as a mirror volume
and use it under advFS..?

The following is disklabel of dsk0c (dsk1c is the same...) and volprint
outputs...

root#> disklabel dsk0c

8 partitions:
# size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg] # NOTE:
