Hi gurus,
This is a problem introduced by Patch Kit 2 and is known to HP. Was solved with a patch kit, not yet publicly available. A software contract is needed to obtain this from HP.
If you can't obtain the patch needed, try to use a pre-patch 2 copy of rpc.yppasswd.
Thanks to all who replied, especially to Ann Majeske who has, once again :), pointed me in the right direction.

Hi,
This is a known problem. You have a couple options. If you
have a support contract you can open a problem report to get
a copy of the fix. If you don't have a support contract your best option would be to restore the rpc.yppasswdd file from the previous patch kit for now. The fix should be in the next patch kit.

I have the same environment. I haven't seen the prpasswd corruption that you mention but I have seen the messages as you describe;

It seems they appeared after PK2 as you suggest but only intermittently and they disappeared entirely after a while. Unfortunately, I can't correlate that with any particular action I took - given that I was preoccupied with more serious Tru64 bugs at the time.
I assume the exit code is as 'errno.h' says;
#define EPROGMISMATCH 75 /* Program version wrong */
which isn't particularly helpful. At this point it would be nice to reach
for the source code...

I'm setting up a NIS master on a TruCluster V5.1B, patch kit 2, the following is happening:
- After a while the NIS being running the prpasswd map gets corrupted and when I do the command ypcat prpasswd the following is displayed:

- In the auth.log file this messages are logged:

Does anybody have seen this problem? Or has a feeling of what's going on?
