Hi managers,

Apparently multi-instance mailbox access is built in IMAP and POP3.

Many thanks to Nikola Milutinovic.

Why are you running BOTH QPopper and UW-IMAP?

UW-IMAP can quite happily serve POP3 and IMAP4 protocols (just like any
half-decent IMAP server does). Run only UW-IMAP, not only will you have one
server less to worry about, but you will avoid potential locking and
concurency issues between the two.

Since IMAP is inherently designed to take care of multiple client access,
this is non-issue with UW-IMAP.

We run Cyrus IMAP and our user can choose what to use, POP3 or IMAP4.

Nix.

original question

Hi Gurus,

We are in the process of moving our email system to Trucluster V5.1B. We currently use sendmail, qpopper and wu-imap and we want to move the same applications to the new cluster.

My questions are.
- Does anyone has experience on running such applications in multi-instance mode? Any gotchas or hints?

- If we move the qpopper to the wu-imap serving the POP, also in multi-instance mode, there are any detail's that we should care about?

Many Thanks for your help.

Greetings,
Pedro Cunha.
