Thanks to Hasan Atasoy, David J. DeWolfe, Benjamin Ingwersen, and Nikola
Milutinovic for their responses. It seems that there is no rhyme or reason
why it happened. There were no errors logged, nothing in /.sh_history that
showed the card was deconfigured, The boot messages from the last time it
was reboot looked good and everything seemed to be in order as far as
/etc/rc.config. I just reconfigured the card and will monitor the next time
we reboot.

Thanks again,

Chris

Subject: DEGPA losing ip address

Admins,

        I currently have a alpha 8400 with one DEGPA-SA connected to a GS140
with one DEGPA-SA via a crossover cable. We rebooted this server and it
looks like the DEGPA's ip address information didn't come up however it is
listed in /etc/rc.config. Any ideas on what could have happened?

TIA,
