Oracle dblinks slow after upgrade to 5.1b PK2

Hello all,
We recently upgraded from 5.1b PK1 to PK2 and started immediately noticing
an increase in the time it was taking for a database refresh via dblink.
There are lots of small reads and writes to the socket between the two
machines, the procedure was written to grab a row from the remote database
and insert it locally. We know this is not ideal, but the problem is the
time to run this job has tripled in some cases. We have checked all the
network and switch interfaces and run ftp tests of large files and
everything looks great. We also ran tests just writing to tables locally and
didn't see any IO issues. Has anyone run into any specific network issues in
PK2 that might relate to our situation. HP and Oracle haven't been able to
pinpoint anything yet. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Chris Medaglia
