[UPDATE] [SUMMARY] V5.1A vs. P5.1A

I had to wait a few days before rebooting the system, but
indeed rebuilding the kernel and booting off the new kernel
rather than genvmunix (which was in fact what I had done,
determined by inspecting the output from consvar) solved
the problem at hand.
