replacement and I wanted to do that at the week start in case of any

The consensus is that to be absolutely certain you suffer no data loss,
one should bring the array down and flush the cache prior to replacing the
battery. However, it wasn't necessary in my case -- it's hard to
schedule a complete downtime. The model 2200 storage enclosure has 2
battery slots for each controller. What I needed to do was to connect to
the HSG80 console, set the time (SET THIS_CONTROLLER TIME) and then
run the FRUTIL utility (RUN FRUTIL) and follow the instructions. Make
sure to use the correct spare battery slot for the controller cache
battery being replaced (next to the old battery). These
instructions are for replacing an external cache battery in a model 2200
storage enclosure; the instructions are different for the BA370 model.

Subject: how to replace cache battery in HSG80
I have a HSG80 controller with an expiring external cache battery. I've
ordered and received a replacement battery, but I'm not exactly sure what
procedure I need to do to install it. My system has a single HSG80
controller and a model 2200 enclosure. From the HSG80 Array Controller
Maintenance and Service guide, it shows that there are 2 cache modules for
each controller. In my case, I only have one controller so only one of
the caches is used. My question is do I simply put the new battery in the
cache A2 slot (next to the existing battery) ? Can I do this while the
system is running or do I need to halt everything first ?
