Thanks to all who responded. The max_sessions id rdg had to be increased.
The number of oracle sessions had more than doubled.

We developed a communication problem with oracle on our Tru64 system. The
error message was as follows:
vmunix: rdg: maximum session limit reached
Can anyone tell me what this references? Is there a system parameter that
needs to be adjusted? I cannot find any information on this.
