Dear managers ,
This is regarding a ES40 running Tru64 4.0F
with patch kit 7 .
All of a sudden it was found that /usr has reached
101 % .
A closer inspection revealed that a file "errlog"
which was continously growing had already reached a
size of 1.5 GB, when it was deleted , it again
promptly started growing .
this file was in /usr/users/username/.dt
and it seems some condition in the dt subsystem
had triggered this error .
This file kept repeatedly logging the following
line :
"select failed error code 22"
We finally killed all dt sessions on the machine and
the logging of these errors stopped.
After logging in again the errors are now not
getting
logged.
What was alarming is that all of a sudden this
started without any warning , when just 2-3
processes ; the Informix engine and one backup
process were running .
Is there any way to find the cause of these logs ,
Is it possible to disable these type of logging
to files ?
