Following my summary of this matter, Bob Marcan <bob.marcan@aster.si>
has some information to contradict the belief of everyone else that the
ability to power off a Dec Alpha remotely is limited to newer high spec
servers, rather than old single CPU workstations.
Although Bob's using OpenVMS, not Tru64, his email says the single
processor Dec Personal Workstation 500au can be powered off remotely.
Since the 600a I have is not too dissimilar (and is newer) than the
500au Bob's using, it seems probable the 600a might be able to do
likewise, given suitable software support.
It might be a case of the hardware is there, but there is no suitable
software in Tru64.
