how to tell if Direct I/O is being used

I want to know how to verify DIO is being used on a standalone ES40 5.1 box. I usually use cfsstat to get directio statistics, but since this is standalone, there is not cluster file system. Oracle is set to use diect I/O across the board- it's not just a per filedomain setting.
