You all pushed me in the rigth direction with the serial console. I checked and the system was set as serial, but a big thanks to Brett Lowe who was the closest, The disk was still spinning and so was booting up.

The problem was that the 4100 has two serial ports at the back. Both display the firmware console but only the second port display the boot information from the unix boot.

So I plugged my terminal into port two and booted up as normal
