Running a Tru64 5.1a PK3 production cluster along with a development cluster
running the same. On occasion, when we try to log into either one it takes
about 2 minutes before the login prompt appears. This is on both clusters
at the same time. I have checked process utilization and everything seems
to be in the norm. This appears to be involved with Telnet. If we close
out our workstation and log back in, then we are unable to connect to the
clusters. People that have been connected throughout the day without
rebooting can still access the clusters. Anyone have a suggestion on where
to start looking?
Thanks to Chris Ford, Charles Ballowe, Warren Liang, and Jerome Berkman who
pointed me to the DNS servers. Everything looked okay on the DNS server,
but a restart of the service brought everything back to specs. Now to find
out what happened to the DNS to begin with...
