Hi all
I am getting the following message when I try to run the configure script to
compile proftpd-1.2.8
checking size of short... configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (short), 77
When I look at the config.log file that is generated I see the following
information after the size of short is checked
configure:9481: cc -o conftest -ifo -Wno-long-double -Llib conftest.c >&5
ld:
Invalid flag usage: Wno-long-double, -Wx,-option must appear after
-_SYSTYPE_SVR4
However when I perform the same command on a 4.0g system the configure runs
ok.
Have I come across a bug in version 6.4-014 of the c compiler on v5.1a or is
its behavior different that what it is in version 6.1-123
Or is it just that I have not set the correctly CFLAGS I have also tried
setting the build environment to alpha-dec-osf4.0g with out sucess.
Any sugestions
Hardware/OS config is alphaserver es40 running v5.1a patch kit 3
