Problem booting 2100 alphaserver

I've two problems on 2 different 2100 server's
1) On one m/c it say's scanning for i/o devices and hangs. And i don't get SRM. Tried, refixing the scsi cable's and connector's but no luck.
2) On the second box, it come's to SRM console. I can see the device's, so wanted to install OS from CD. When i try booting from cdrom, It does the bootstraps and seeks 15 sector's and hangs there.
