Hello Admin wizards,

thanx to all who replied (in order of appearance):

Nikola Milutinovic, Peter Reynolds, Stan Horowitz, Jon Norstog, Wolfgang
Rupp, Kyle McKee, Joseph Senulis, Peter Gerger and finally Ram Rao.

1) A BIG THANX to the fellow from munich who doenst want his name to
appear in this summary - he sent me a complete memory bank of his old
unused Alpha for FREE (256 MB). It works. THANK YOU!!!

2) Most of you pointed me to the online documentation of the Alpha 1000
servers (it is a little bit hidden, but I bookmarked it now)

3) The hint to try and use normal PC-RAMs was not very helpful though;
perhaps it worked for some other fellows, but not for me (maybe this was
a carnival joke anyway, but it was worth trying)

4) I received some very detailed descriptions of the ram organisation in
the alpha machines directly.

5) I was pointed to some online vendors who still have this equipment on
stock, especially www.crucial.com, www.cpuoptions.com and www.kingston.com

I always thought I had the last two up and running "dinos" of these old
Alpha 1000 machines .... it is good to see that there is still company
out there. Thank you all again, especially to you, Wilfried.
