Thanks to Michael Acklin, Keith Strange, Jeffrey Hummel, Trevor Osatchuk, A.
Mahendra Rajah and Bluejay Adametz for their responses. Most of you said
just make sure that the 2 gigabit nic cards are on the same subnet and
connected by a crossover cable. Which I have done and my connection works.

Admins,

I have 2 servers ( GS140 and 8400 ) connected together via a gigabit
crossover cable. Now, with regard to configuring the alt0 cards on each
machine how do I need to configure the routes? I have never configured a
system connecting to a system before so I am a little behind the curve here.
