Hi,

Thanks for all the quick replies. (Johan Brusche,Joerg Bruehe, Chris
Ruhnke, Terry, Martin Moore)

The answer is that ulimit is part of the shell, and that the two machines
in question were using different shells.
Changing the DS25's shell to ksh, and the output was then as expected.

Regards,
Rob

Subject: ulimit -a broken on 5.1B ?

Hi Managers,

We've got a couple of new DS25's installed with 5.1B, and the ulimit
command appears to be working differently to 5.1A.

For example:

on 5.1A:
# ulimit -a
time(seconds) unlimited
file(blocks) unlimited
data(kbytes) 131072
stack(kbytes) 8192
memory(kbytes) 8222712
coredump(blocks) unlimited
nofiles(descriptors) 4096
vmemory(kbytes) 4194304

on 5.1B:
# ulimit -a
4194304

Is this a bug in 5.1B ?

Regards,

Rob
