I have seen DEC3000's refered to on this list; but a pleminary search of the archives
reveals not much, relevant. So here we go:
I have a number of DEC 3000 300 and DEC 3000 400s I want to run the latest possible
version of Tru64 on them. I can install 4.0g but would like
5.1, 5.1a (most pref) or 5.1b. I can get to install 5.1a on them but the install fails
non destructivly half way through and then they fail to boot properly.
Some one suggested a firmware update. I know there are issues with some of the
3000 400s but there is no mention of the 300s. When I tried to update the
firmware from the firmware cd with one of the 300s and the first stage boot
suceeds but fails at the second stage.
Can anone advise me if it is possible to run 5.1 on these and what to
do in order to get the OS installed.
