ok folks,

Just so there's a record in the lists for this issue. It turns out to have been an issue with filelocks. I was fortunate that the app at issue was able to disable filelocks.
I'm still going to continue to dig into the issue as time allows and if there are any further dvelopments then I will post again.

Subject: cluster problem...maybe

Greetings,

I'm fairly new to Tru64 (since Dec) and am currently having a rather odd issue. I have a clustered (mostly...long story) set of ES40 machines (I didn't set them up) that are currently at 5.1. The problem I am having has to do with running an application from one member of the cluster. I can run it just fine on member1 but member2 refuses to run it properly (ie, it runs but no output). I can see the process in the process list for member2 when member2 runs it...just no output.

This is being run off an NFS mount point. I've set up the directory and run 'mkcdsl -ca /mount/point' a couple of times but with the same result. It appears to only be a problem with this particular client as there are several clients set up identically on the same cluster which click along happily. I've checked all my perms and ownerships and been through the books I have access to (TruCluster Server Handbook and Tru64 Unix Sys Admin's Guide from Digital Press) but haven't found anything to really point the way...

I'm open to any helpful advice...(unhelpful anecdotes will be acceptible as long as they are amusing ;-) )
