Fortran for 4.0g

I am finally going to upgrade some machines I kept with 3.2 for reasons
not worth detailing here. For similar compatibility reasons I am going to
upgrade them to 4.0g.

I have got from another branch of our institution (located in a different
city) the OS CD (from which I'm doing the first installation) and two
associated products CD (AG-QTMAG-BE and AG-QX6FH).

I see they contain a subset DFARTL384 (runtime support for Fortran) but
no compiler.

What if I want a (modern) version of Fortran on my new (sic!) 4.0g ?
I see that the latest Compaq Fortran is 5.5, and that there is something
at file://ftp.service.digital.com/public/osf/v4.0g/fortran/5.5/, with
subsets DFABASE551 (and other DFA*) and DFARTL405. But is not clear to me
whether that is a patch or a full kit.

(on our 3.2 machines we have DFA*380 and DFARTL365 ... I'm pretty sure I
updated the DFARTL from the net long ago ... I still have also the
original PAK).

Could I use the above kit, or should I fetch another one, and from where ?
