Original question below.

Basically, it appears that support for the MSA1000 on Tru64 may be forthcoming in the form of a Patch Kit. Date of said PK is rumored to be "real soon".

It might become available in V5.1B, I think you need the initial patch kit, and it might also become available in V5.1A with a patch kit that should be available real soon now, but I'd have to go re-check both of the supported options lists to be sure. And depending on how you want to use it (data storage or boot device), you might need the NHD6 kit, which is based on the latest patch kits. But the support is planned and as far as I know will actually be there.

Dear Business Critical Partners,

Some news on the Smart Array and the MSA1000.

* SmartArray
o OpenVMS is already shipping. Don't forget to celebrate.
o Tru64 UNIX has been delayed, as you have noticed, but
* We feel optimistic that we can ship in January
* MSA1000
o Support for this low cost SAN depends on SmartArray support first,
* so we are nearly there.
o Until you read this note, you expected MSA1000 support in Tru64 UNIX
* and OpenVMS in mid January.
* Support is now expected at the end of February

Cheers.

Subject: Tru64 access to MSA1000

Has anybody heard any news about Tru64 systems being able to access an MSA1000? If and when this might come to pass?

Thanks,
