I'm working on a remote client's machine that I sysgen'd locally.
It is a DS20E box with the Oxygen VX1 video card, and when I applied pk7, I
made sure that patches 835 and 859 were installed to support the card, did
the special kernel build and all that and the card came up with all the
pretty colors. It also is listed correctly in the startup info.
The problem is, when the user logs in at the CDE panel prompt,
presses enter, enters the password and presses enter again, the screen goes
blank for a while and returns to the login. If she puts in the login name,
clicks on the OK button, puts in the password and clicks OK again, the login
works and she goes into the proper desktop session. This happens with at
least two different user accounts.
Has anyone heard of this? I'm not inclined to suspect user error
because her old hardware was configured the same on 4.0d, and because I
can't duplicate the problem on my 2100.
