DHCP error message "DYNAMIC is invalid" in IP address field

We're trying to configure our Tru64 Unix workstation (a Compaq Alpha 264DP
that is a couple years old) to use DHCP. We're using V5.0A of the
operating system, and until recently we weren't using DHCP but instead
giving it a user supplied value for the local machine IP address. Changes
were made to the network over the summer and we're now being told we must
use DHCP to assign our IP address. We have discovered that when we choose
the "Use DHCP" option in the Network Setup wizard the program inserts the
word DYNAMIC in the IP address field. When we click OK we get the Error
Message saying that the word DYNAMIC is invalid. Does anyone have any idea
of how to fix this or how we get around this problem (or even what is going
on here)?
Many thanks in advance,
Sean Peebles.
