compiling file-3.3x

Hi,

I'm running Tru64 V5.1 and I'm trying to get amavis working on an alpha box.
Amavis needs a TNEF compliant file command. I've tried compiling the astron file-3.38 and file-3.39 with gcc, cc and c89, without any success.

Any hints would greatly help me.
