Tru64/Linux NFS problems

I searched the archives but only found people submitting questions about
this but no answers provided:

We have a mix of intel linux systems and tru64 alpha systems. The linux
systems were recently upgraded from Mandrake 7.2 to Mandrake 8.2. I've
discovered that I can't access filesystems exported from the Linux systems
to the alpha systems except as root. Root on the alphas can mount the
Linux filesystems and traverse them OK, but if a normal user tries to
traverse the mounted filesystem, they get this:

NFS3 RFS3_ACCESS failed for server xxxxx : RPC: Authentication error

The linux exports file has them exported with rw and root_squash options.

The linux systems have no trouble accessing NFS shares from the alphas or
each other.

We had no trouble with earlier linux versions.

Thanks,

Dirk
