Well,
I thought about posting a summary of what happened though the problem
haven't been solved yet.
Thanks to Simon Millard, Marcel van Heemst and Dr Thomas Blinn on their
recommendations

The original message is below, the system in question is ES40 running
True64 UNIX V 4.0G, without any history of having problems with
rebooting the system, it suddenly stoped in the middle of the boot
sequence at the message:
ace0 at isa0
ace1 at isa0
lp0 at isa0
and then just hangs there...it should give after that (according to a
previous boot prinout)
fdi0 at isa0
fd0 at fdi0 unit 0
and continues....

Anyway, after several attempts, we came to a point that the PCI
backplane is bad, and found out that if we tried to boot from the
floppy drive (where there is nothing in it), and then boot regularly
from my disk, it just boot fine (we did this twice). I think it was
just a matter of waking up the floppy controller so it is detected
while normal booting (fdi0)

Anyway, the system is up and running now with no problems, I still have
to schedule a time to put in a new PCI backplane, maybe after a couply
of months

Sorry for the late summary

-Mohamed Ahmed
