[SUMMARY]: Compaq Secure Web Server 5.9.2 corrupted

Thanks to the following people who answered my question below.

The problem was somehow the file got corrupted at the caching
firewall. Once I bypassed the cache server and down-loaded the file
directly from Compaq, I could gunzip/untar it OK.
