Hi,

I have a ES40 with *2 (834Mhz) cpu together with 10GB Memory with a gigabye
ethernet adaptor which is connect to Cisco 3508 switch.

We have netfiler device which is acting as the nfs server, this to is also
connected to same switch.

Our nsf mount command is like this.

/vol/big_disk@netap1 /big_disk nfsv3 rw,bg 0 0

Running an Oracle import to load up the database on the netfiler device.
Doesn't appear to be loading very quickly.. 3 three days later it still
going.

How do I get nfs to transfer data quicker. The server I am loading is busy
but not that busy.

ifconfig alt0
alt0: flags=c63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX>
     inet 10.x.x.x netmask ffff0000 broadcast 10.x.x.x ipmtu 1500

Someone has Suggested i increase ipmtu to 9,000, which is all very well but
what about pc which can only handle packages size of 1,476??
Does this mean the cisco is going to be doing a lot of work.?

Any ideas anyone.

Regards

Mark
