[SUMMARY] NFS server and IP change.

My question was about ways to renumber a group of NFS file servers without
having to reboot all the clients. Thanks to Kjell Andresen, Denise McCracken,
Dr. Tom Blinn and Peter Sherwood for their replies.

Tom's suggestion was to have each of the servers alias the old IP until
all the clients had mounted through the new IP.

Peter's suggestion was to get the cooperation of the users to remove the mounts
on the clients and then remount after the server ip number is changed over.

I had considered Tom's suggestion: I've done that with some Linux boxes.
The problem here is that users are running long calculations often in parallel
on multiple clients. The clients won't release their mounts until the
calculations complete which could be weeks. That also rules out Peter's
suggestion as a global solution although it will work in some cases.

It looks like I'll have to schedule a mass reboot of all the servers and
any clients which currently have mounts: probably next weekend. The users
aren't going to be happy but I don't see any other solution in this context.

As Dr. Tom said: "Yes, this is really messy".
