CDE and CLI password mismatch

Hi list,

Didn't find anything useful on Google, so here is my problem. Our passwords
works on the command line (SSH and console) and we can't logon on the
console with CDE, we always get "login incorrect" with new or old passwords.
How can we fix this mismatch ?

BTW: 'passwd' should be able to update the password everywhere, right ?
