I was examining performance on my system an encountered a strange
thing. When I examine a file with showfile I get the following
** ** ** ** advfs ** ** ** ** <name of the
file>.dbf
This file is actually a rollback segement for an oracle 8.1.7.3 instance.
Some of the other rollback segments have information this one doesn't. I
have noticed that the disk containing the roll back segment is
experiencing disk wait time that peak at 4000 ms then drop off to close to
zero. This happens occasionally and probably represent someone dropping a
table or something.... Does anyone know why there are only *****'s?
