I have an HSG80 SAN, running v8.6-8S. We are using the snapshot capability for backups, but are having intermittent problems with it. Sometimes when a snapshot is created of a unit, the snapshot is created in a "Disabled" state, i.e.:
HSG80> show d10
LUN Uses Used by

D10 BACKUP
LUN ID: 6000-1FE1-000C-1BC0-0009-1240-1703-00DE
IDENTIFIER = 10

State:
ONLINE to the other controller
PREFERRED_PATH = OTHER_CONTROLLER
Size: NOT YET KNOWN
Geometry (C/H/S): NOT YET KNOWN
I can find no documentation on what "Snapshot is DISABLED" means, and there are no error messages shown on the console, or in FMU. This is attached to a Tru64 v5.1 box (although I don't think anything on the host has any effect).
Has anyone seen this problem before, or know what this error message means? Is there some other diagnostic information I could get?
Thanks,
