Well, luck was just not with me. Thanks for all the quick replies, I tried
2 different known working monitors with no luck. But I figured what the
heck, so I tried 2 more. The 4th monitor works fine. Ended up being a
monitor issue all along. Thanks again. I just need to go back on vacation
again!

Monday and I have no video. After restarting the system I notice that video
works fine on the blue screen, and can do a sh config at the 3 chevron
prompt. Video works fine up until it tries to load the CDE. I get the
final part of the bootup process where it shows a login: and a please wait
while CDE is started or something to that effect. My local Compaq tech has
already been out and swapped out the video card, so we have eliminated that
problem. I'm not quite sure what to do from here. It is obviously a
software problem somewhere. Either the video driver or CDE, any
suggestions? No software has been changed or added to this system, nothing
has changed on it in about 8 months or so.
