Hi,

Thanks to those responded: B Ingwersen,S Millard,P O'Brien, alan@nabeth
The general concensus is that provided you have the correct cables, and
mounting bracket the drive can be installed in a Proliant.
However the warranty on the drive will almost certainly become void.

Cheers,

Rob

Subject: OT: Reusing an SBB type TZ89
Hi managers,

Apologies for being slightly off topic, however I know someone here will
probably answer quickly !

For one reason or another we've got an SBB type TZ89 tape drive (DLT7000)

which is currently mounted in an external (BA356) shelf.
I would like to get this drive mounted internally in a Proliant 5500R, to

free space up in the rack - the shelf is only being used for the DLT.

Can the TZ89 be removed from its SBB mounting, and reused ?

Cheers,

Rob Leadbeater
