Hi -- thanks to James Sainsbury ( /sbin/init.d/xlogin restart )
                and Kevin Dea ( kill -HUP `ps aux|grep X11X authfiles etc )
and Peter Stern ( xlogin stop , xlogin start)

Kevin's suggestion didn't work. James's made the entire system hang. Never
mind. INothing appeared on the console so I plugged in the tried and true
monitor keyboard and mouse next to the actual machine and rebooted.. I
wonder if sharing a KVM switch with other intel boxes, citrix servers etc
caused the initial problem . Thanks.

Hi -- have a problem where the CDE desktop is not appearing thru a KVM
switch. Can telnet to the server OK.

It is in a new server room where all the boxen's screens etc go out to
anothr room via KVM switches.

Is there any way to refresh the CDE without dong a reboot?

Thanks
