Managers,

I have a 3 machine TruCluster running V5.1. The machines are two 4100's
and one GS80. The 4100's have graphics cards and I get into the dtlogin
screen no problem. The GS80 doesn't have a graphics card, but it has a
serial port for the console and I've got that plugged into a PC connecting
via HyperTerminal. This isn't a new idea, it used to work just fine. I used
to login to the console whenever it was required without any problems.
Recently however, it no longer allow me to login. I get all normal console
messages on the screen, and even a login prompt. I can type in "root" and
get a password prompt, however when I enter the password I get "Login
incorrect" and a new login prompt. I can get in remotely and do an "su"enter
the same password at the prompt and get into root, so the password isn't the
problem. I do have "/dev/console" in the /etc/securettys file for that
machine. Anyone have any suggestions?

UNIX is very user friendly, It's just very particular about who it makes
friends with.
